We’re Hiring: Security Officer

📍 Location: Theale, RG7 5HH
💰 Pay: £13.45 per hour
📅 Hours: 54 hours per week, nights during the week, days on weekends during Week 1, and nights on weekends during Week 2.

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting a busy cement depot and concrete plant that receives bulk cement deliveries by rail and supports the distribution of bulk cement and ready-mixed concrete across the South of England. The Security Officer will carry out regular patrols, monitor site access, assist visitors and contractors, and help maintain a safe and secure working environment. Operating within a strategic distribution hub that supports infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects, the Security Officer will play a key role in safeguarding people, assets, and operations while ensuring all site procedures and security protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

✅ Control site access and conduct regular patrols
✅ Monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems
✅ Manage keys, locking/unlocking, and visitor access
✅ Maintain accurate security records and reports
✅ Support health & safety procedures and report incidents
✅ Respond to emergencies and follow site procedures
✅ Help prevent loss, damage, and unauthorised activity
✅ Provide excellent customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors
✅ Operate security equipment and assist with investigations when required

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

✅ Valid SIA Licence
✅ Right to work in the UK
✅ Must be over 18 years of age
✅ 5-year checkable employment history
✅ No current criminal convictions
✅ Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus
✅ Reliable, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team
✅ Must be able to work every weekend, alternating between day and night shifts

Desirable

⭐ Previous experience as a Security Officer
⭐ Full UK driving licence and own transport
⭐ First Aid qualification
