Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established local business that designs, manufactures and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the power generation, marine and rail traction industries.

 

Part of the Wabtec Corporation; Napier Turbochargers is part of a world-wide organisation that provides excellent career opportunities both within the UK and abroad.

 

The vacancy will require a flexible approach covering CNC Machinist skills or development of skills across the following Production areas:

- 5-Axis Machining

- Turning

- Milling

- Grinding

 

Qualifications:

- Recognised time served Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ Level 3

 

Experience:

- At least 4 years relevant industry experience

 

Skills:

- Be self-motivated and have good communication skills, both verbal and written

- Understand the need to work as part of a team and be committed to targets and measures of that team

- Show good timekeeping and be flexible in working shift patterns/additional hours

- Have a good awareness of the importance of a safe working environment and duties on oneself and others within the company's HSE policy

- Demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings and the use of a variety of calibrated measuring equipment
